100 workouts in 100 days!

I saw a post on facebook on January 8th. it was a video of a lady who had had enough of being overweight and low self esteem. She decided to workout everyday for 100 days. ( http://www.wimp.com/womangym/) I was very inspired by this and thought I could do it to! So here I am on day 6!  I have set myself some rules.  I feel that I should walk at home to a video and try to still go to the gym. This will only count as one workout. I will not beat myself up if something happens I don't get anything in because two workouts some days will take care of it.  BUT not to use that as an excuse or a reason not to workout one day.

SO here is how my days have gone so far
DAY 1  recumbent bike and day one of 30 day squat challenge (I think I actually did 60 squats)
DAY 2  3 mile walking video, squat challenge day 2, and 45 min on the recumbent bike
DAY 3 (this was a little harder--was waiting for grand daughter to be born!)  BUT squat challenge,
1 mile treadmill and 30 min on recumbent
DAY 4 1 mile walk squat challenge was a rest day!
DAY 5 squat challenge, ab challenge, 3 miles of walking video (mile 2 is a lot of toning band for arms)
            30 minutes on recumbent bike

DAY 6  squat challenge and ab challenge

I am not coordinated enough to walk on the treadmill without holding on. So the recumbent has been my main gym workout. until my hand recovers anyway---- so frustrating. I had to use the treadmill day 3 since someone was on the bike, I stuck it out for a mile but my hand was not happy!  Hope this improves! need to get to the pool!

since November 11, 2013

My daughter had her appendix out, I took a trip to the emergency room, then I had carpel tunnel surgery that has been awful, candy making day, grand baby born dec 18th, Christmas, New Year's (no I have no resolutions), and then grand baby born Jan 11th!  She is the new year baby!!!! wahoo!!

Now-let's discuss facing challenges! I go to the gym and they have a universal gym. I fear this beast! I am not sure how to use it, don't want to look stupid trying to learn it, don't want to hurt myself if I use it incorrectly.  Ya there are pictures there but I am not that bright sometimes! So Nov 19th I decide I am going to tackle this beast!!!!! at least do the stuff I DO KNOW. I was pleased to do several exercises and lift more than i thought I could etc.   a couple friends even commented I was out lifting them and they are skinny fit ladies.  WELLLLLLL..... I think the beast still won in the end. sigh. That was the night I ended up in the ER. I had these awful stabbing headaches. Have you ever seen that weapon that looks like a stick and you push the button and a blade comes out both ends? well I felt like someone was in my head pushing that button over and over. The dr said perhaps a small bleed from lifting REALLY!? ugh I was so proud of my efforts! so they ordered an MRI but I had to wait 5 days before the MRI truck was in town again. So I was afraid to work out at all. The headaches stopped that night never to return, the MRI results were fine.  two days after the MRI  I had the carpel tunnel surgery.

The carpel tunnel surgery went well, the incision was beautiful etc. but the recovery has been horrid. with all the surgeries I have had, this was the worst. and I am still struggling.  So my goals and plans to exercise despite the surgery kind of went out the window. I did NOTHING for exercise from Nov 19th until Jan 9th. sigh.   But the hand... after the surgery the dr told me something about my tendon goes a different direction than most peoples and that he was concerned with how my recovery would be in the muscle at the base of my thumb. sigh. at the appointment yesterday, he was still concerned. the muscle is firing but is weak. hoping physical therapy will help. I am not thrilled over the progress or the surgery- I am glad my left hand doesn't need it cause it would take a lot of convincing to get me to do it.

My progression.....

Well, I am feeling pretty good about the work I have been putting into my health.

My blood sugars are ranging 88-160 (the 160 was yesterday cause I ate an afternoon snack not very long before dinner so my sugars showed it)  I am thrilled with how many times my sugars have been in the normal range! and even more thrilled that I have been able to eat fruit and other things that would normally shoot my sugars way up!  I feel healthier!

I am working hard on getting my workouts in and training for my number goals - the half marathons. I have been going to the hospital gym 2-3 times a week and the hotel for the pool 2-3 times a week. Saturdays I have gone to the hotel and used the recumbent bike, treadmill, pool, and then hot tub. I am thinking that if I wake up at 4:30 am again (like this morning) that I will go to the pool! =)   I really love the pool!

I had to postpone my mammogram- I was sick. =( but I will reschedule it!

Carpel Tunnel Surgery is the day before thanksgiving. I have been thinking about what to do for exercise once I have the surgery. I am not very graceful or coordinated. I hang on when I walk on the treadmill!  and the elliptical! and I am pretty sure the pool will be a no no for the first little bit! (will confirm this for sure when I see the dr the day before the surgery)  It finally came to me--- I will do walk at home videos!!! these are good workouts! and I won't need to use my hands unless there is a toning band section but I can just do the walking without the bands!  So I feel better! I was actually a little panicked about it!

I see my regular dr on the 22nd and I think he will be pleased with my accomplishments! I think I will be adding a chiropractor and massage visits to my regime.  I am also going to research a buggy for Christopher that is like one of those pull behind a bike toddler buggies but adult sized. It can be used as a push cart over sand and snow, and pulled behind a bike. Thinking it might be lighter weight for the half marathons. My ortho dr said he will help me decide which type of handles will be best for my wrists while pushing Christopher.

I am happy with what I have been doing! I really want to do a 3 day cancer walk one day, and I would love to do a stair climb again.  Would love to do the same one I did a few years ago to see if I can improve my time!  thinking perhaps in 2015.... will worry about that a bit down the road.

until I blog again.......

love yourself

A friend of mine used that theory with me one day. I think I posted something about my work towards my goals and she said "progression not perfection right?"  This is so true!

We are not perfect, we are not going to be perfect, we are not MEANT to be perfect! We are meant to progress.  We strive to much for perfection and that leads to disappointment and other negative feelings.   We spend too much time comparing ourselves to others.

If we spent more time progressing, and only comparing ourselves to who we were yesterday, we could be a lot happier!  It is important that we love ourselves as we are, but see ourselves as we can be.   We might not weigh what we want to weigh, or be as good at a sport or something that we want to be. Who cares! Love yourself!!!! accept yourself!!!!  THEN make a plan to improve the things you want to improve. be a better you today than you were yesterday.   If you have a bad day- so be it.  If you mess up, no problem!!! just start again in that next MOMENT, not next week, not Monday, not after the holidays.... Start the very next second.  it will be ok!

What happens if you get to the weight you want to be? will you be happy? will you find something else to hate about yourself?  It will all depend on if you have learned to love yourself for who you are TODAY!   That is the key to happiness. LOVE YOURSELF!

Progression- not perfection, love yourself for who you are TODAY!

Let's talk goals

I believe that goals help keep us active. If we don't have a goals we have nothing to strive for so can fall into an inactive state, inactive physically and mentally. I also believe that we should set attainable goals. Why set ourselves up for failure!? There is nothing wrong with pushing ourselves, but we still need to have attainable goals. We shouldn't say "I want to lose 100 pounds in two months"  that is failure waiting to happen. Instead set small short term goals to reach a long term larger goal.

On top of that, I believe in setting two goals. The one I would be happy with and the one I would be THRILLED with! Like my half marathons.... I would say "I want to finish" that is my first goal- my happy goal. "I want to finish in less then 3.5 hours" is second goal... the one that I will be thrilled to achieve.

Right now- my current goals are that in which I don't have a secondary, I will be thrilled goal =)  The medical ones are just ones that have to be achieved. and so I am happy with any progress towards that.

So some of my goals are large! Like being ready for half marathons next summer. Taking it one day at a time, one 6 week body make over segment at a time.  with smaller, quick to achieve goals we will have a sense of accomplishment and the larger goals will not seem so hard to reach.

until I blog again.....

Tuesday, October 29, 2013

I am happy to report that I am making progress! My sugars now range from 132-189 - Still not in the normal range but closer! I review my progress with the Dr. tomorrow- or rather I drop off my numbers and he will review as he can. so by the end of the week I should know what the new plan is. I am anticipating an increase in the injection amount and nothing else.  I will get on the scales when I go- just as a calibration of how I am doing. and for the Dr to see that I am making progress that way as well (that is my hope- a lower number)
I have been working out on the gazelle and the total gym on days I haven't been able to get to the gym. And then have been to the gym a couple times as well. I even ran last night! not long or fast but I ran. 2 different times and for a minute each time.

I spent half an hour on the elliptical and an hour and 20 minutes on the treadmill.  Friday I walked an interval program on the treadmill for an hour. I hope to alternate treadmill work outs for variety and so my body doesn't settle into a routine that hinders my progression.  last night I needed to get my legs to relax so didn't do any high powered treadmill work other then the two minutes of running.

My blood pressure- I am not sure how that is doing. I think I will see if Jamie will check that tomorrow as well.  The a1c goal I have--- that is a test done every three months or so. SO will not know progress on that until after the first of the year. But I think it will show improvement at least!  I need to keep working hard on that!

Do I still eat candy- yup. Do I eat birthday cake!? Yup! I have always and will always believe that moderation is more the key than giving up treats.  everything in moderation. a cheese burger here and there isn't the problem. cheeseburgers every day and not living an active life is the problem. We need to be active. I know this- have known this... just don't live up to it. BUT I need to! I want to!  I have one grand son and more grand babies soon to be here! I need to be active and healthy! I am young enough that there is no reason I can't live to see great grandchildren and even great great grand children! BUT i have to take care of me!  It is always so much easier to take care of everyone else. However - what we forget as moms/women is that we can't continue in this work for as long as we would like if we aren't healthy ourselves. For Christopher I need to be healthy- I need to be able to take care of him for years to come.

I was looking for a hotel room for a training I want to attend for my educational hours for my certified family home license. The first thing I was checking for was a gym and pool!!!  Usually I am like "ha I am going away- I don't need to stress doing anything like exercise!"   I usually check for continental breakfast! LOL and cheap! LOL I am not a hotel snob! (that was for you Tammy!) I usually only ever sleep at the hotel. not hang out or anything.... so I usually just get a cheap place. just need a bed why pay a lot. =)

Anyway- as my friend Beth said... Progression not perfection and I am doing well at progression!  never do I strive for perfection- it just isn't possible. =)

until I blog again......

My goals

I am in a group on facebook- there are just a handful of us and it was originally for a six week body makeover- Rules: no talk of weight/weight loss.  the second 6 weeks we have been talking number goals. and I first thought weight but then people talked of numbers like "i want to work out 5 times a week" etc. well I couldn't decide on a number goal until after I was at the soda screamer. As I mentioned in the last post- people were recognizing me and talking about me and missing me at events.  SO my number goals:
1.)  13.1 in 7/2013 (star valley half marathon)
2.)  13.1 in 10/2013 (soda screamer half marathon- the first event we ever did!)

Now- in order to achieve such number goals I need to workout and train. I want to do this knowing I am as healthy as I can be. I know my blood sugars were not any where near where they are suppose to be and I also realized that my blood pressure has been borderline every time I have been to the doctor the last several times I have been there (so probably the last couple years). I decided it was time to face the music and go see the dr.  Love our dr! he asked what I was there for. I told him- I have goals. two big goals.... and told him of the half marathons. I said- I want to start working out and training, however I know my diabetes needs help and my blood pressure probably needs some help too. Told him that I knew I needed meds and planned to use them as my crutch until I can lose weight and get rid of it all (again) and that my focus is not weight loss - I am not going to stress the scales. I know that with everything else- that will be a bonus from it all.   He was very agreeable. No lecture and was pleased with my attitude. He told me he knows that I know what I am doing and that I have all the tools to do it- and that I just need to do it. I agreed and said that was the hardest part--- getting it done!  So he gave me an injection medication for my diabetes to add to my current medication. and some medicine for my blood pressure.  And told me I am good to go to work out.  I check in next wed and then see him again mid November. My medical goals:
1.) blood glucose in the normal range
2.) A1C in the normal range
3.) blood pressure in the normal range

So you might have caught on that I said a 6 week goal yet my goals extend to July 2014 and October 2014. My six week goal is to get everything set and ready to go to make those number goals and to get started!
1.) doctor visit  check
2.) follow dr's orders check
3.) gym membership  check
4.) exercise clothes (needed! my other pants were too thin to be wearing in public) check
5.) got a gazelle exercise machine for free! BONUS check!
6.) blog started for journaling and accountability check
7.) support from family and friends  - those who know about it and care check!
8.) update ipod for good music.... not done yet
9.) follow through with carpel tunnel surgery

Carpel Tunnel surgery? to walk a half marathon!? yup!! I am not suppose to push Christopher any more than necessary due to the carpel tunnel. So in order to push him next year in these events I need to have the surgery. I have carpel tunnel in both wrists but it is mild in the left. not sure the plan there but I have an appointment with that dr on wed.  Hoping to have one surgery right before Thanksgiving since Ty will have a long weekend to help.

Now in addition to these goals. I am strongly considering a 3day cancer walk!! I have all but said yes. I want to! I am scared to! So I will think on this a bit longer.

So there you have it! My goals! My plan!!! Now hopefully I can post lots of success stories and good progress reports!

Until I blog again.....

Monday, October 21, 2013

I was just reading the last two posts from June 2011. sigh--- i am no where near in that good of shape! but I will get back to that point.
Since my last post....
I found a program that enables me to stay home with Tiffany and Christopher (my two specially abled adult children that live with us). So in Sept 2011, My husband got a great raise and promotion, my youngest son left to go to school, and my place of employment although overall a great place- my department didn't want to let me work 4 ten hour days in order for me to continue to work for them, so i quit a lot earlier than I intended to.
I have thoroughly enjoyed being home!  I have a lot of freedom with out having to punch a time clock! but it doesn't come without its own stresses.  Anyway- so no more working outside the house. July 2012 I pushed Christopher in a half marathon and ended up with blisters under my toenails so I was unable to participate in the soda screamer. My toes were barely starting to feel better so no time to train and be ready.  My weight has crept back up. some boredom eating for sure. Aug. 2012, my son Duane got married, Sept 2012 my first grand child was born!! Then Nov 2012 I finally made the tough choice to have my lap band removed.
yup! my banded life blog is now actually a unbanded blog. BUT it was the right choice. and of course- more weight crept back up.  May 2013, Duane announced that he and his wife Kayla were expecting (boy!)!! then Troy got engaged and a few days later they found out they were expecting (girl)!!! So lots of fun coming up!

Here I sit: overweight once again and a stay at home mom who is also a grandma.

what to do? feel sorry for myself? make excuses?  keep putting on weight?

I helped with the soda screamer this year and chatted with a couple people. One remembered me pushing Christopher in the soda screamer in the past.  and there was a family there that participated in the Star valley half marathon and said they missed seeing us this year and that they talked about us. (we were in Illinois)

Well this was enough to get me motivated. I need to do something- I want to do something. So I have made myself a goal- I want to participate in the Star Valley half and the soda screamer.  I need to work hard to get to a point where my body can do it!

that is a super quick update to life.

until I blog again.....

Moving forward!

So Thursday I went to the gym and my goal was to just run as long as I could. The first couple of minutes were awful. I was sure that the day before and running 10 mins straight was a fluke. BUT I stuck it out and soon hit that 10 minutes and made a goal of 15 min. then a goal of 20 min! I was so excited! I did just barely over 20 minutes at 4.5 mph. My goal now is to increase the speed and the length of time gradually. My knees are a little sore but not bad. I woke up in the middle of the night and they were yelling at me so I did not do my work out friday - I swapped my rest day for today with friday- so nothing yesterday- I was too tired to even drive home! But did the workout for supreme 90 today.

Funny thing about that- my husband came in during my workout (I work out in the front room and usually at 5:30 am so he is sleeping but it was after 8 at this point) and sat down. He made a couple of comments about my workout (Nice comments) and then I hear sniffling.... I look at him and he is crying. I asked what he was crying for and it was just that he was so proud of me and was thinking about 5 years ago how that would never have been something I could do or would try to do.

After my work out Troy (age17) comes in to lift his weights a little. So I was showing him some of the things he can do to change it up. =)

I was proud with my workout because I did 5 or 6 burpees today!! Those are hard for me. and I did I think 10 push-ups without modification and jump lunges! I can't wait for the day I can do a full plank jack!!! I am getting close!!! I can tell a difference in my ability, strength, and endurance each day as I follow that program. I am pleased with the results I have seen so far!!

I am not sure I will win the biggest loser contest. There are a lot of people doing so well on their plans too. I heard of some having lost 10-14 pounds already. I am hovering at about 8-10 pounds lost. BUT I know that everyone has to continue on that weight loss for three months total. Some might not have that endurance some will platuea eventually and I will catch up! Not going to put myself out of the running that is for sure. I am trusting in the process that building the muscles will help to burn fat quicker at some point.

Everyone is able to choose their method like HCG etc. I want to see what I can do just doing it the plain old fashion way- exercise and eat right! SO just trusting in the process at this point and doing what I can. I faulter with the food occassionally but all in all I am doing great I think!

I am learning that I prefer to exercise to fight stress over eat to fight it!

Thursday, June 23, 2011

WOW!

I am pretty excited! I ran on the treadmill for 10 minutes straight yesterday and probably could have done a little bit longer but had to be somewhere so had to stop. I was so proud. It was not a fast run but I am building endurance! 4.5 mph was my speed.

My goal is to run as much of the first 3 miles or so of the soda screamer and still have the ability to push Christopher the rest of it!!! I have a few months to work towards this goal! I am hoping to possibly run while pushing him but we'll see.

So that is my news for the day! I am eating well, exercising well and trusting in the process. My knee hurt a little this morning and I am not sure if that is from the running or from my trainer having me do step ups on the weight bench! that is a big big step!!! =)

Biggest Loser so far

Well, my scale said 189 this morning- dr scale was just a bit more but it's all good. I am not losing a lot of weight at the moment but I am changing drastically in shape! I am doing supreme 90 which is similar to the p90x as far as I can tell. I am on day 22 and feeling great- other than tired from getting up early! I do that in the morning then try to do something else in the afternoon. Walk on my lunch time, go to the gym, personal trainer sessions with a teammate.... etc.

Thought I would share this story with you -

Saturday I took Troy shopping for his father's day gift to Ty. (Troy is my youngest age 17- ty is my husband - wasn't sure everyone knew that) =) anyway he picked out ande's choc cherry candy and another treat and said he and his dad would share the ande's right away but the other treat would be added to the gift for Sunday. Well, saturday afternoon i grabbed one of those ande's candys and popped it into my mouth. Troy walked up and put his hand under my mouth and said "spit it out!" so I did- spit and all! I wasn't overly nice about it! and i followed him into the kitchen where he proceeded to open the trash can and "slam" the spit and candy into the can. I said "what the heck wasthat for!?" (I was thinking he was upset cause that was his treat to share with his dad only) he waves his index finger at me and says "I want to go to disney so don't eat that!!" OH MY! I was laughing so hard!! the next morning I got a lecture about the choc cake roll he found in the fridge!!! we won't even go into that discussion!! LEt's just say I didn't dare eat until he went to work!!! hahahaaha!! I really hope I don't let him down!!! =) I know I haven't worked as hard some days as I could have. But there is only one day this month that I didn't exercise at all! I could improve my food options some days but most days I am doing great I think....

I really want to win that Disney prize!!!

until I blog again.....

one week later....

I am one week into the biggest loser contest! I have done well I think... I want to say I have lost 3-5 pounds but will have to wait until July for an official weigh in before I post for sure pounds lost! =)

I work out twice a day most days! A strength program in the mornings, treadmill or other things in the evenings. I drink all my water and eat lots of protein. Some carbs, some fruit.

I enjoy about 3/4 cup of milk with a 100 calorie pack of cookies at bedtime!!

I feel good and will hopefully look good soon! I am trying hard to exercise when I am stressed instead of visit the fridge! I have a lot of stress to make me practice this new concept! I think I am doing well.

Encouragement needed! =)

Biggest Loser?

First let me update you on the 5K on May 30th. It was windy, muddy, slippery, and cold. So Christopher did not join me again. Sigh... I miss him when he isn't there making his sounds and rockin' the chair! I finished in 52 minutes .... I was hoping for 45 but I will take this. I didn't do a thing last week. I was lazy. BUT NO MORE!!!

The hospital I work for is doing a Biggest Loser Contest. Weigh in today!! It has wonderful prizes- best one... $1500 towards a trip to Disney Land because our theme for the hospital right now is "what if Disney ran the hospital". I WANT THAT TRIP!!!

I have my schedule mapped out for workouts, I have food planned except this morning it dawned on me I haven't really done well to plan suppers.... hmmmm I even have it planned how to make sure I get my water in!!! I think I am ready to go! Ty is ready to help take care of stuff around the house more so I can concentrate on this contest and doing what I need to do!

SO my official beginning weight.... 197.8
and my right forearm is an inch bigger then the left! just incase you were wanting to know that! haha! I think it is from bowling? every thing else seemed to be the same on both sides! I had my picture taken for my before shot and will post that later.

Not sure anyone reads this blog, but if you do- please feel free to send me encouragement, hints, tips, recipes, etc!!!

until I blog again.....

off and running-

So I have been training a lot less than I want to be. This week was super busy- the first week of May I didn't get out as much as I should have but I did ok at the first 10k - I finished it in 1:28. Came in second out of THREE ha! but it's all good!

I wasn't able to push Christopher the whole distance because of weather and not wanting him to get wet and cold. But I did push him at the end and across the finish line.

Losing weight- not really but once I get to training more I should show a loss... I bounce back and forth in the same 5 pound range. Can't wait to get out of it but it is my choices that are keeping me from doing so. I have got to get out there and exercise! It is getting nicer outside so hoping to take advantage of that and go for walks more often and longer.

next event is May 30th a 5k! Gotta get moving so I can do well in the half marathons that are coming up! Want to go train where the screamer is. Perhaps tomorrow!? good plan and picnic at the park if it is nice out!

until I blog again.....

2011

Well, I have set my goals for this year. I have about 50 pounds to lose and to do so I am going to walk/run a series of 10k's (one a month for five months May- Sept). I have a couple of 5k's I am going to do, and at least two half marathons. I will be pushing my special needs son for all these events (combined weight of about 150 pounds)

The first event is this Saturday May 7th!! I am NOT ready but figure this will give me room to improve as I move through the series! I am nervous about this event simply cause I do not know the course. Haven't seen it, don't know the area so a map won't tell me enough to make me not feel nervous.

So- increase my protein intake, seriously decrease my sugar intake, and exercise exercise exercise. I am hoping that by the time I get to the Soda Screamer I am very very close to my goal if not at goal. and I am hoping to beat my time of last years screamer.... 3:42:55 I am looking for under 3:30 - major goal is being done in under 3:15 but we will see how this summer goes.

Follow along- please send encouragement! thoughts- prayers etc!!

Until I blog again.... (and I won't wait so long between blogs) =)

Wed.

I did NOT do any stairs last night. My head hurt so badly I just couldn't. I didn't dare! with my head already hurting, and knowing that I tend to get light headed when doing the steps- I didn't figure that was a safe combination. So instead I baked cookies! blah---

So once again- not happy with my food efforts. And ok with the exercise issue cause that was for my safety I made that choice. If I could just get rid of the headaches! They die down after a little while after getting home- they start when I show up to work... hmmmmm

Anyway- weight going no where but at least it isn't going up. I wasn't happy with the scales today but then I took my shoes off (I always take them off was just lazy this morning) and I weighed in the same as last week. Hoping to make progress in the food department and increase my workouts. Not sure what to do tonight. Might go to the gym or just do stairs. Tomorrow is suppose to be zumba.

I will happy once some of the unneeded stress is out of my life- getting closer with that....

I am feeling my monday night workout today! Didn't notice it until last night! But my abs are yelling a bit!!! I just want to see some results but I know that I need to actually put in more work for those results. sigh.

I have got to make something work. I know it is better food choices and continued exercise but the food part escapes me from time to time.

until I blog again.....

So far so good...

I went to the gym last night and did the circuit training! I Love that!! Did some aerobic type work and weights on the universal gym. I was pleased. Hope I start seeing results. Now if I can get the junk out of my diet I will be doing even better!

Just had my health fair labs drawn- I am expecting to see some bad glucose numbers.... sigh.... but I am working on it so I know I will be ok. I can do this.

No workouts over the weekend. Had appointments and went out of town. Not really a good excuse cause I went to a hotel and they had STAIRS . OH yeah- I didn't run the steps cause I was tired AND because I brought workout clothes but forgot my shoes!! silly me. I was actually kind of upset about that. I thought about going barefoot but worried about messing up my feet and slowing me down in the long run.

Tonight is a stair climb day. Then biggest loser! Love that show! One of my boys said they need to do a celebrity biggest loser. I think that would be pretty cool but then again- most celebrities could afford to go to the Biggest Loser Ranches they have. So help the other people who can't. This season has been hard for me to watch. They have the most competitive game playing contestants I have ever seen this year! Makes it hard to watch some nights. To me the only competition is myself. I need to do better than I did yesterday! I need to lose the weight for my health not for money!

Friday! Really?

Well, we woke up Christopher this morning, had him dressed and ready to go. Breakfast ready- feeling good that we were on top of things and ahead of our typical schedule. Then I went to get him his meds.... I couldnt' understand why I only had Friday pills in the pill strip then it dawns on me that today IS Friday! Poor kid- up dressed and ready with no place to go. So he went back to bed ( I am so jealous of that!) and I went to work. He did enjoy his breakfast first but we now understand the reasons behind the looks he was giving us!

Now- Last night- I am proud of my exercise efforts. Not so much my food efforts. But I did 1120 stairs last night! in 25 minutes!!! The stairs here are not as tall and they have a hand rail so think that made it easier. I was really proud of that. Then I had some water, ran to the store and got me a head band so I could keep the sweat and hair out of my eyes during zumba. Next I went to zumba! I worked my hardest - there was a couple of times that I needed to back off a little but otherwise I kicked it up a notch or two. I jumped for some of it, squated deeper for some of it. was a huge sweaty mess.

I came home and ate a couple of bites of taco soup with cheese, then some little smokies with cheese, then some frosting. I KNOW I KNOW!! AWFUL!!! But I think I get into some low sugars when I work out.... at one point I still wanted some more frosting but went to sleep instead. I will do better.

This morning I ate my protein bar and then a muffin that a co-workers wife brought in. YUMMY - Think I need the little bit of extra calories. Perhaps if I eat a few more caloric items that are healthful during the day I won't be so snacky at night. We'll see.

they are having fried veggie basket today.... mushrooms, onion, rings cheese... oh my!! how to stay away from that!? I don't know. Those are my favs.

ha!

Well, It is evening and I am eating my meals backwards! I am such an air head- I forgot my posting this morning and didn't follow my meal plan. I ate nothing for breakfast. Ate 4 moz sticks (the FRIED kind- trust me I know that wasn't a healthy option) for lunch. drank some water. Now for supper - I am eating my protein bar and some microwave 94% fat free kettle popcorn.

I will be going to zumba tonight for sure. - only thing that will slow me down is if the weather seems to be getting worse. I am hoping to get in some stairs tonight but we'll see. Zumba for sure-anything else will be a bonus!

Now I need to get to work on finding some good recipes. I want to find some good holiday ones to share!

Will post tomorrow what I accomplished and didn't accomplish. =)
